Good bye Arizona

Finally getting out of this town. I have been there for nearly a month now. The market took some time as the holiday of Thanksgiving was in effect when I first got there. The city is beautiful but its so huge with all the smaller cities (or less popular ones; I mean come on who knows where Mesa or Scottsdale are). At any rate, I am finally finished with the market and it was good times.

I spent some time with my cousin while I was here. Grandma came down from Bountiful Utah and I just happened to be here in the state when she arrived. She wanted to do something special so we went to Olive Garden to play catch up. It was nice. We got on a rant about our conservative views and it turned out when we were done that the waitress (who had not herd our conversation) got us talking about the subject for another ten minutes when we were about to leave. Good times.

The rainy season is scarey here. The rain water does not have a real place to go when it starts coming down. I thought that the city would have a series of drains to drive the water away but no. I just hope that some real heavy rain doesn't come here. It could seriously shut down the city.

Again, still had a good time here. I hope that every one there enjoys the great warm weather that they have.

Immortality

Its Thanksgiving weekend and I was thinking about immortality after seeing a vampire movie. It occurred to me that we as humans desire immortality and create stories and poems of such things. I was reflecting on the end of times and the 1000 years of peace and prosperity. It is during this time that we will see the face of the messiah and the veil that has protected us so long will become as thin as paper that has light through it. Things that have been held out from our eyes will become as plain as you and I see now.

At first we will be excited and we will embrace the new life we are to live. The government is more clean and righteous will lead. The scriptures will be unfolded and we will understand things to a whole level that we could never conceive. Our lives will be lengthened and the secrets of the immortality will be learned in the sacred places of the Lord.

But all good things will come to an end. As it was with Nephites it will be with us, complacency. The bonds that so easily held Satan will become weak because of us. We will think that we are so strong because of our knowledge and faith, but the 'Son of the Morning' brought down an Apostle of the Lord who was with him daily. We are no different. The importance of our faith in the Lord will become the most prized asset against the Devil and his angels.

I would encourage those that read my post to consider this and pray that they will be strong in the Lord in all things. Read your scriptures, pray for forgiveness, renew your covenants, remember what you have been taught because when it comes down to it, thats all that will be with you when you live with the Savior and face Satan.

I was on Heritage Foundation's website and they asked me a ton of questions of things that should be cut. After taking the survey I realized that there was a ton that could be done in addition to what I already agreed to.

1. All Federal employees can only serve two terms with no pension or severance as no former employer pays their employees for life after their service. If they saved money then they get that money.

2. All Federal employees will live on a middle class income ($100 or less) and have them pay taxes on that money.

3. If the president wants special treatment, he (or she) must pay for the special treatment with their outrageous income. They want chefs, tailors and such, they must pay for their constant income out of their own pocket and not out of mine.

4. On a state and federal level, make boards that meet monthly a status thing and not a payed one. If it means that much to them they will do it for free.

5. All Public Unions will be dissolved. All federal jobs will be a right to work situation and not a privilege protected by a union. We can use the extra money to clean up the corruption.

6. Prisons will loose all privileges! Prison is not a happy place and so as such all privileges will be removed and the desire to leave and improve themselves will replace it. Food at prison will be equal to what is served at public schools today.

7. All life sentences and death penalties will be carried out immediately. Too many people sit in prison and should be dead. Life sentences that are longer then 15 years will be considered a death sentence as they are now just useless waste and their deaths would be a clear message to clean up and fly right.

8. Allow lethal force to our police. Too many people have been hurt because police have not been allowed to use lethal force. Their hands are tied. I am not saying that they should not be held responsible for wrongs but stop tying their hands. They are here to protect and serve.

9. Illegal aliens will no longer get any assistance; no food stamps, housing, hospital aid, medicare, medicade and social security. In fact they should be deported and if they return, shot! As for their "American" children, they can leave them here and be put in the foster program or take them back to the "mother country".

10. English only in all our state and federal buildings, that means schools. The only time I should hear a foreign tongue is in a foreign speech class.

Wow, Mixed?

Recently I have had to wrestle with keeping my job and leaving. I really want to do something new and exciting that makes the same amount, but after mom died I am mixed. I still want to be with my family half the time while doing this great job but I cannot have both stay at home and work in Phoenix or Denver etc. When mom died I got some time off and immediately afterwords the office sent me to start Salt Lake City prior to the holiday, so I have had the time to be at home and play with family and friends. I know that I make more then most in this state but I know that there is a job here in Utah that is meant for me, its just a matter of find it.

I have also made the commitment to write everyday for 40 days and mom's death messed that up. I had made that commitment the night before she died believing that there is no reason why I should have any kind of writing block save not writing in the first place. I am still committed to the task and mom's funeral is out of the way. Hopefully I can really stick to it. I want to be a writer but in order to do that I need to buckle down and show that I want it by doing it. I cannot have what I show no desire for.

I recently started a game (ok it started in November but...) and its coming along. I realize that when I stick to the story and think like a comic book writer then it creates a great game. A good game starts with the characters and keeps the characters in mind as they go through the story. Keeping players interested is a challenge as I do it only once a month. This game though is amazing. I originally though that it was going to be a problem but the story is fantastic and exciting. There is chases, explosions and problem solving. There is mystery and action and its the comic book story/RPG I have always wanted. It will be a while before it runs it course but I believe that there's a source book there; there's that much material.

Like I said, I am going to write for 40 days. Wish me luck.

How I loved my mom

My mom died today.

It was an ordinary day and even the news really hasn't set in but she is gone. So many have sent their condolences for such a great person. I am certain that its the legacy that they remember and not the person. Of course when we think of George Washington and Abraham of the Bible we tend to think of the legacy too, so its not much of a stretch to say that she truly gave us all to remember her by. Of the many things that

I will always remember her for is that smile and those bright blue eyes that will never open again until God opens them. Mom was one to smile even when there was hard times and kept a stiff upper lip. Even in faded old pictures of days gone by she posed with her two big sisters and little annoying brother lived in Ohio she had that smile; a smile that carried her throughout her life.

Mom knew and loved a ton of people. Those that knew her were friends for life. She had a big heart and looked out for the little guy and I suppose that's where I can relate to her the most. Both of us really want the world to be a better place and we both know that has to start with us. We stuck to the old primary hymn that says 'kindness begins with me'.

I really miss her now that I reflect on those things.

Mom always kept a song in her heart and one on her lips. When we were children she learned the guitar and we learned simpler instruments and we would play for the family and ward events. We even volunteered for the chance to play for the elderly once or twice.

Mom was there when she and Dad got divorced. To keep my mind off of the depression that I was in she got me involved in dance, music and theater. I didn't realize that there so much sacrifice involved in these activities and perhaps I never will.

I have always been connected with my Mom and when she got sick I was in Canada at the time and a sudden rush cam over me and I realized that something was wrong. When I got home I had learned that my sweet mother was in the hospital. I knew that it was the Lord telling me that she was not doing well. When I had the rush, at the time, I knew that it was Mom and I prayed to the dear Lord that he would keep my mother here. To this day, I believe that He heard my call.

Mom and I have had our ups and downs but through it all I know that her prayers for her little ones was always on her lips at night. She would wrestle with the Lord on her knees and in his house for each of us for our temporal and spiritual well being. When she would call me in what ever part of the world I was she would always say to call her when I was in town and to be safe when I wasn't. What a wonderful woman.

Now that she is gone I can only hope to be a dad that has the spirit of my Mom. One that smiles in diversity and praises the lord always.

I miss you Margot.

High Anxiety

Here I am in Kansas with anxiety. Sucks because it's depriving me of sleep. I have been here for over a week and its driving me crazy with nothing to do. I have stuck myself on a tight budget so entertainment is minimal. My boss told me that it would not be long and that we would be working by the 18th; that was six days ago. So I sit missing my family and friends. Missing birthdays and such because of my insane loyalty and my passive aggression is kicking in. I want to be home or at least be working. Sitting on my keister sucks. I really cannot go on one more day of this in silence. On the plus side I have gained a new friend in the week that has transpired that has helped me with my relationship with my wife. We are now more open and communicate better because of some tips that he has told me about. Man I really think that is cool. I also over the last few months gained a Facebook buddy that lives in Canada. She is something. Has a husband and some relationship issues that I was able to help her with. That was nice to be there for her. Now I am just rambling on. I am going to bed. Night.

Obama doomed by Obamacare?

I was thinking of our beloved dict... president and realized that the the very health care program that he pushed through underhanded shenanigans and bathroom deals will not cover him as it discourages obesity and drug and alcohol abuse, increasing the rates for those that are users. Then I thought isn't the president a addict of alcohol and nicotine? The answer is yes. I also wondered if our country with this new law passed, was going to help their ex-president (when he leaves office in two years) help on his health when he needs an iron lung or suffers from emphysema? The answer is... I don't know. The damage that has been done from Obamacare has already started and needs to stop. Now I have heard talks of impeachment and replacing all of the democrats in the House and Senate, but how long will that last? I love our Republic but we are making more and more bad choices and at a faster rate. Now long will we have our beloved Republic? I hope to God that its for another 200 years.

Its been a while

I am here in Omaha, NE today and well this is the first time I have been here, although I have passed through here a couple of times when I moved. At any rate, I am starting to feel a desire to write again and am looking at my work and piecing it together. I am also at the same time looking for ways to be home more often. Its weird though there are some time where I want the private time while I want the time to be home with family and friends. The other tough thing that I find is that that I make quite a bit of money and and finding a company to pay me a similar check is hard. At any rate, wish me luck.

Political Suicide

Back in Seattle

I have been working on my book here in Seattle. Man its awesome (I wanted to say that I am awesome, but you know humility). At any rate I spent all of last week dwelling on the story and my brain just kept typing and typing, then nothing... just blank. I need to tell the story to others just to inspire me. When I start talking about it then the juices start running. I was talking to my cousin and man that inspired me. I love talking to my family especially my cousins who are like brothers to me.

At any rate I learned that there is a city here under the city of Seattle. Man I have to see that. I also want to see the underground tunnels and the space needle. Grandma says that I should move here so that she can have an excuse to move here. I would have to say that this would be a good excuse.

Marvels Disney

Here is Marvel a favorite of mine that was independent, merged with Disney who is taken every good company that they want and merge them with themselves. Will they be too big to fail? Denver and Evony

Denver it great and beautiful. I have been here for quite some time and had some troubles with the van here and there. That has given me the time to get involved with a game called Evony.

Evony is a MMORP for people that like to build empires and pillage other empires. Aliances are made and so are enemies. This game has such vibrant colors and detailed graphics but thats not the reason why I play. No... I play for the pace of the game. Now I am not going to say how old I am (and if your family, shut your pie hole) but this game is perfect for the slow pace 8 bit gamers like myself. It goes well with those that have spare time but are not wanting to be addicted to a game such as World of Warcraft or Evercraft. This game focuses on building and streighing a kingdom building alliances and warding off enemies but does it at a pace that could be done at home or in the office in your spare time. Awesome huh? My kingdom is located at server 11, x137, y315 and x136, y315 (they're close I know).

I have been enjoying the game for quite some time (in my spare time). It has alliances, wars, building and defending, spying (scouting) and just is an all around great game. I would recommend it to anyone (over the age of 13, it gets kind of involved).

At any rate, I am here in Denver's west city of Golden where my mom apparently grew up (happy birthday mom). And man has this city grown. I forgot how beutiful the mountains are on the east side of the range. Its been a good experience here.

Seattle Rocks

Its funny being here in Seattle, everyone knows the place except me. This is my first time here in the city and its awesome in size and majesty and the spire is incredible.

I was talking to my supervisor and sister-in-law and they apparently know more about this place than I do. They made reference to places that I hadn't heard of. I really need to get to know more about this place.

On the plus side, the Blue Angels are going to be here and there's a bunch of activities going on. So someone that knows as little as I do can wander around until I bump into fun. (Weird huh.)

I need to get a camera (and maybe some swimming shorts too) and really enjoy this place. Oh well wish me luck.

Well, I am in Seattle, I haven't done any writing in weeks, still working and I am not sure if I am happy. Witch is odd for me because I am used to being in control of my happiness. Usually I am writing material for my RPG or novel on the weekends but for months now I have been so busy I haven't had time. Perhaps I have let other obligations get in the way or distract me. Odd in deed. My mind has drawn a blank as to my hobby (work), man that's sucks. I haven't ranted or calculated new game mechanics or anything. I have to get back into the swing of thing quick before I lose it.

We have been here in Utah for now two weeks but it seems like a few hours. We have a great place in the basement of a cousins house and its fantastic but I was wondering what was Virginia for?

Well to point out the bad. First, the humidity, the bugs and the lawn that would not quit growing. Next my kids and wife constantly had to use a decongestant and they made very few friends and had no family there to speak of. Finally the roads were not friendly as they twisted and turned in odd directions showing no mercy to the lost.

Then I got to thinking about it.

I learned about people and how they are awesome no matter where they come from. I learned to navigate in a harsh climate and the incredible faith that people had in each other to survive. I learned about the Virginia spirit that has been tried over and over. I learned about Washington D.C. and gained appreciation for the leadership of this great country. I made some of the best friendships that will not be easily forgotten.

I will always be part Virginian. God bless the U.S.A.

No I am not a Democrat. I have officially switched to Libertarian. I am sick of Democrat Light (the Republican party) apologizing for or ignoring the Democratic party! Those pansies want votes but want them from both sides.

Well the conservative party is the biggest so instead of seeking votes from both sides by watering down morals how about standing for something so that we can believe you when you say something. I am sick and tired of the crap that the Liberals push at us and we just laugh and take it. At the rate we are going we will lose our Republic with an astounding applause. All because we gave up on freedom for safety. I love this country and hate to see it go but no one will defend its morals and principals.

The liberals say that we are obsolete and out dated. That our Christian ethics of witch this country was founded on are not politically correct. That we need to allow gays and lesbians (I want to say something else but will refrain) marriage. They want equal rights well they have them. They just want to twist them until no one has them except the leaders of 'their' new government.

This country is in danger but we refuse to pick up our guns and defend it because its not a threat from the outside but within. Remember the scripture; "If thy right hand offend thee, cut it off". We need to cut some pieces of government that has grown to a disgusting size. This country needs an enema and we need a leader to give it and until this happens we will continue to poison ourselves.

God help America.

Political Correctness

There are two things that have been eating me up lately. One Obama is still president after 100 days and second political correctness cost California the Mrs. America title. Originally I thought that tolerance and diversity should be the rule and not the exception because it promoted peace but these days I would disagree with younger self.

Meanwhile there are pirates and terrorists are allowed to roam free because we do not do as the scriptures direct us to do and that is kill the killers. I am sure that rapists pedophiles and such should be included in that but they are not and why? You got me... my guess; political correctness.

Diversity has ruined this country. Although it has improved the behavior of men to women and blacks to whites it now shelters "reverse-racism" and such that the freedom of speech and the right to gather together is attacked. It has attacked wholesome morality and safety. Then again Ben Franklin said that "Those who would give up Essential Liberty to purchase a little Temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety." Truer words were not spoken.

I wonder some times about God. Are we like Icarus? Are we so eager to find God that we will do anything including destroying ourselves? I would say perhaps. There are those that sought to touch god though building a huge building.

What though makes us different as Christians then those people of Babel? Is it that we rely on God versus fighting against him to get to him. It brings to question if we want the devil to be our help mate in reaching God and fear Jesus as he is the Beginning and Finisher of our faith. Lets look at the pagan religions. First we have the Egyptians a pagan religion that because of the Hebrews changed their viewpoint of a God or Son of God.

The Greeks, Babylons, Romans, Aztecs; name a thousand empires and each have ties to the Hebrews. The Hebrews are the oldest and most diverse people ever. They are part of the Christian faith, Jewish faith and Muslim faith. Each child of these faiths claim Abraham the great Hebrew as their father (although no so much the Christians, ironic). Many have waged wars over Abraham or his sons and grand-sons. Perhaps more then all of those is the uber-grandson Jesus who changed (some say fulfilled) the Jewish faith and fought moral religious laws that held the Jews bound to the promised Messiah.

Yes I may not ever truly know how much Abraham is part of us but I attempt to find the answers every day.

I was looking through my old stuff and noticed that I had created two blogs similar to what I do now (only I write more). One was called the Un-Writer, a blog about how I was struggling to get a book out (that by the way isn't finished yet) and the other was a Mormon Rant that was more harsh about the church (borderline apostate) and I realized that I really need to write and get what it is inside out.
Those blogs are gone now but I can't help but feel that it was those early works that got me making more of a journalistic attempt at writing and expressing. I just wish that I would finish that book. I am certain that it would be decent. As for ranting and raving about the church, there still will be some of that. The church is not perfect but it does have that spiritual flair that I admire and adore. I do love the members (even though some may drive you nuts) and want to be more involved in church. Well see how that turns out. At any rate, Chow.

Barack Invades us all

I love this comic as it shows how Barack has changed us all or more importantly Muslim has changed this country. Personally I wish that he had stayed Berry.
There's another comic on their website (actually there are several) that show the election and the general emotions of the public about the election of President Elect Barack Obama. Personally I thought that the country sold itself to the devil but that's just me. There's still controversy about weather or not the man is American but I can save that for another time when there is more data on the issue.

I know that I am upset with the outcome of the election but, well there is no buts about it. I don't like Obama and his associations with ACORN or American terrorists. I just feel that its going to affect the way that this country is going. I know that he is one man but he is the entire Executive Branch of the Government and frankly that scares me. I just wish that there was some comfort in his office and the control in keeping his Marxist views out of my (our) government. I don't even know if we teach about Marxism these days. Public and private schools are so deluted and powerless about what is being taught, it makes me sick. Well it better get better.

OBAMA!!!!

I really am disgusted by the vote that happened but this country has spoken. I so wanted McCain (even though I truly didn't trust him either). I am so disgusted that I can't even listen to my regular day time programs that I listen on the radio. We can only hope that next 'Christmas' Santa President doesn't give away everything we own because I feel that we have already lost and are heading to a more Marxist country just by voting and not listening.

I am once again on the road and away from my family. You would think that I would get used to that but I miss them dearly. I do attempt to make sure that they know I care though post cards and phone calls; I even take vacation with them. I just miss them all.
New York is nice here away from down town. The expense is just a lot. I need to research a 'cheep' place. Lets just wish me luck.

Starting Over

I originally wanted to make a series of blogs that were different and distinct in their own right. There was a Mormon blog, a Writers blog etc. I could not keep it all straight. So now there is a blog called Just Me. I plan on using this for all my rants as a human being. There will be talk of being a Mormon, a writer, a dad and any other random though that is going through my head.
